Santa
Maria Navarrese, is
part of the town council of Baunei, it is situated on
the east coast of Sardinia. The port and airport of
Arbatax are only a 10 minute drive away.
Marvelous green trees
form the principal characteristics of this town. Olive
trees, hundreds and even thousands of years old, adorn
and tinge the town square and slopes which rise up from
the sea and are interrupted only by the white stones of
the antique church. This church was built in 1050 by the
Princess of Navarra (hence the name of the town). The
impressive grey Spanish Tower guards the bay with its
sandy beaches. The town offers all kinds of
amenities that tourists require.
One of them is the modern
tourist harbor set in marvelous surroundings.
Or choose from one of the
many excursions which leave Santa Maria Navarrese to the
mountain town of Baunei to visit a rich territory full
of nature trails and history whilst admiring numerous
traces left by man and his accordance with nature along
the way.
