SANTA MARIA NAVARRESE

 

Santa Maria Navarreseis part of the town council of Baunei, it is situated on the east coast of Sardinia. The port and airport of Arbatax are only a 10 minute drive away.

Marvelous green trees form the principal characteristics of this town. Olive trees, hundreds and even thousands of years old, adorn and tinge the town square and slopes which rise up from the sea and are interrupted only by the white stones of the antique church. This church was built in 1050 by the Princess of Navarra (hence the name of the town). The impressive grey Spanish Tower guards the bay with its sandy beaches. The town offers all kinds of amenities that tourists require.

Or choose from one of the many excursions which leave Santa Maria Navarrese to the mountain town of Baunei  to visit a rich territory full of nature trails and history whilst admiring numerous traces left by man and his accordance with nature along the way.

 

The central beach of Santa Maria Navarrese is situated to the center of the country, it is an enchanting bay mended by the winds and delimited to south by some rock-cliffs of red porfido. From the ultramodern tourist port thanks to a service of boats of different type, visits can be effected along an unique coast in the Mediterranean: 40 Kms of wild cliffs sometimes interrupted from coves of a dazzling white that mirror him in an unique sea.
